A little one bedroom self-catering cottage, completely self contained with a private terrace. Situated at the edge of the beautiful but little known white village of Cútar, it has delightful views over fruit orchards and vineyards. The wooden ceilings and clay floor tiles create a warm atmosphere. The cottage has been completely renovated inside and out the Andalucian style, preserving the traditional features, but including modern appliances The entrance is accessed via a pretty patio in traditional patterned stone work with a large flowering cactus and tropical plants The door of the cottage opens into an open-plan kitchen and living area with an attractive open fireplace in traditional brickwork.The high beamed ceilings help stabilize the summer and winter temperatures. The room has substantial quality furnishings, designed to enhance the Moorish-Spanish feel of the space. There is a portable CD and radio and the kitchen is equipped to modern standards. There is a gas hob, fridge freezer, microwave, toaster and electric kettle. The bathroom like the kitchen diner, has a traditional feel being decorated in tile and brick. However it is modern and fully equipped, including a shower, bath and bidet and hairdryer. Good quality bath and hand towels are included. The bedroom has a traditional Andalucian 'matrimonial' bed and double wardrobe. It has a warm and intimate feel. The bed is made up with Egyptian cotton linen, changed weekly. A small private terrace completes the suite, overlooking the Cútar valley and with a view of Mount Maroma. It which receives full sun all day. It includes a small barbeque and sink. This self contained little cottage is ideal for a romatic break or a hideaway holiday. It is only a short drive from unspoilt beaches and resorts. It is close to the great cultural centres of Málaga, Velez Málaga Antequera and Granada, while perfect for the enjoyment of traditional rural Andalucia. All of our properties are verified and approved by the Junta de Andalucia tourist board as "Vivienda Rural" and carry five star references on "Trip Advisor". Area Description: Located off the main tourist routes, Cútar has a lot of charm and is a quiet, traditional village. In the shadow of its large 16th century church, built on the site of a Mosque, white houses and small narrow streets tumble down the hillside. Cutar is a pueblo blanco - white village, a legacy of the Moorish rule of the area.Cutar has a population of about 400 and is 331 metres above sea level, the main sources of income are the vineyards and olive groves. Cutar is 331 metres above sea level and in summer a gentle breeze takes the edge off the heat. The village is dominated by the peak of Peńa de Hierro y Cutar rising to 585 metres. From the village there are panoramic views of the mountains and countryside. The cottage has a good sized terrace with wonderful views that overlook the mountains and hills of the Axarquia. Because of the very mild semi-tropical climate, farmers grow mangos, avocados, citrus fruits, dates, figs, pomegranate, guava, sugar cane and the heavy, delicious Muscat grapes. The grapes are dried into raisins or made into the famous Malaga muscatel dessert wine. The village has a single grocery that sells something of everything including fresh vegetables and meat. The fish van comes twice per wek and the fruit and veg van once. There is a bread shop that sells bread cakes and eggs, a pharmacy and a bar - two bars, sometimes three in summer! Close by in the neighbouring villages (8 mins drive) can be found banks with ATM's, supermarkets, butchers, fruiterers bakers and so on. These villages have municipal swimming pools. Cutar offers privacy and tranquility with easy access to everything the tourist might need. Cutar is 32 kilometers from Malaga - about an hours drive.Mount Maroma is 40mins away by car. It is 2000 metres high - half as high again as Ben Nevis and is walkable. The nearest beach is about 25 mins drive, with the Nerja tourist beaches 30 mins and the secluded coastal coves in a maritime nature reserve about 35 mins.
