This beautiful country house nestling within a wooded hillside of wild olives and Spanish oaks was built on a farm just 7kms from the village of Gaucin, only a 45 minute drive from the coast. It is quiet and secluded yet conveniently close to all amenities. Spacious and airy with high beamed ceilings, the house has spectacular and uninterrupted views over the valley towards Gibraltar and the Rif mountains of Morocco.
Ground floor: To the right of the entrance hall is a cloakroom, huge drawing room with high ceilings and a Minstrel's gallery. Two double doors lead to a shaded terrace. At the far end of the drawing room is a bedroom with a double bed (which can be split for 2 singles) with bathroom and terrace. To the left of the entrance is an open plan kitchen/dining room fully equipped with double doors opening onto a large covered terrace with a long table which seats 8/10 for meals al fresco. At the far end of the kitchen, a hallway leads to two double bedrooms; one with single beds and a full bathroom next door, and one with a double bed, its own sitting room and an en-suite bathroom with shower. First floor: The staircase from the entrance hall leads you to the main bedroom, private sitting room, terrace and large dressing room/bathroom. The beautifully landscaped garden has paths leading to many shaded terraces. Natural rock forms are a unique feature of the swimming pool area. This house and its pool have been featured in Conde Nast Publications, Country Living and the Spanish magazines Casa y Campo and La Casa de Maria Claire. * SPECIAL NOTES: The pool area is not fenced and although children are welcome, parents should not let their young children play in the garden unattended. Area Description: Gaucin is a beautiful mountain village with sweeping views to Gibraltar and the Rif mountains of North Africa. It is situated against the spectacular backdrop of the Serrania de Ronda. It sits 2000 feet above sea level on the crest of the Sierra del Hacho and, due to its key strategic position, was once a major Roman settlement. Its castle, Castillo del Aguila, dates from this era and was later expanded by the Arabs into a fortress. These days the castle is generally open to visitors from 11am to 2pm and from 5pm to 7pm.Golfing - there are many golf courses within easy driving distance of Finca Los Acebuches, including the world famous Valderrama course at Sotogrande, which is only a 45 minute drive away. Beaches - The Costa del Sol is only a 45 minute drive. Tarifa on the Atlantic coast, a windsurfing paradise is 1.25 hour drive. RATES IN EUROS
