A rustic apartment with stunning views to the Mediterranean from it´s private terrace, La Casa Francesa also offers it´s guests a secluded swimming pool with bar and BBQ.
The interior offers cool and comfortable accommodation with 1 double bedroom, a shower-room with hydro shower, kitchen with all modern appliances and large split level sitting and dining area. A double sofabed means the apartment can comfortably sleep 4. Restored to retain it´s original features the apartment has stone feature walls and chestnut beams and new terracotta tiles throughout.
The large private terrace is an ideal place for a glass of wine in the early evening and the perfect spot for birdwatching; Booted and Golden Eagles, Gosshawks and Golden Oriels are amongst the birds you might see.
Valor has several bars and restaurants, a bank with cash machine, 2 shops and a pharmacy. The larger town of Ugijar is 10 minutes drive away and has a couple of bodegas, for that all important local wine, and many more shops. Both have large municipal swimming pools which open in the summer months. Granada is one of the last provinces in Spain where you will still receive a free tapa with your drink which makes for a very easy lunch whilst exploring the village.
Valor was the location of one of the last famous battles between the Moors and Christians; during the village fiesta in September the battles are re-enacted throughout the final day, culminating in a fantastic firework display at midnight. The night-time procession of the church´s patron saint is another amazing highlight of the fiesta -not to be missed.

 Las Alpujarras are a string of white villages threading through the Sierra Nevada National Park, each with their own identity.
Trevelez, the highest village in Spain, is renowned for it´s cured ham and liquer made from Prickly Pears: Pampaneira and Capiliera offer a wealth of craft from hand-made rugs to leatherwork: Lanjaron is famous for it´s restorative waters and is the perfect place for a spa treatment and massage.
A must see is the Alhambra Palace in Granada - spend the morning taking in the intricate carvings there and the afternoon wandering through the shady Albaicin.
Valor is on the GR7 so there are many walks in and around the village for all levels of fitness. For the experienced and adventurous try Mulhacen above Capiliera which is the highest mountain in Spain at 3,478m
